Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death started the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to kill the target and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could help the group access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them few options but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
What’s Next?
From episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the combat party will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Questers and Schemers tables.
Audiences can expect learning which adventurers will be in which group in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on October 24.
